Fall 2008 Preview - Part 1

The temperature hit 20 degrees this week in NY. As we are just now heading into Winter, some of our New York Designers are already showing previews of there Fall 2008 lines. Here are a few trends I noticed early on. Let's watch and see if they carry into the shows in February.

The New Suit
Suiting continues to be a tough business for most retailers who are in the career business. The new way to wear a suit is to mix and match jackets, pants and underpinnings.

Burberry puts a skinny belt on a matte jacket and paired it with a satin wide leg pant. It is styled with gloves and a scarf.

DVF has an idea how about we kill the jacket and wear a vest over a printed long sleeve knit. I like that idea!

Printed Gowns
Evening wear gets very interesting this fall. Take a look at these printed frocks.

Carolina Hererra printed v neck gown with jewel embellishment. (I guess bling is still relevant.)

Badgley Mishka leopard print gown.

Pretty in Plaid
Not just for picnics plaid remains an important piece to differentiate your outerwear.
